About
Margarita Artista began writing the moment she could hold a pen. Her love of whimsical and fantastical adventures, combined with her fondness of social messaging and calls for change, has greatly inspired the body of her work. She enjoys dabbling with descriptive metaphors, witty dialogue, and meaningful character development to craft intentional and relatable stories for her readers, while simultaneously offering fun and romantic escapes from reality.

After spending over a decade in flux between writing and editing, Margarita self-published the first book of her debut urban-romantasy series, The Phoenix Keeper and the City of the Sun, on November 3, 2023. In June of 2024, the series was signed to Azala Press, and the first book was republished on August 6, 2024.

Margarita holds a BA in Sociology with a concentration in social research, as well as a Master's in Public Administration. She often finds her education helps inform clever ways to incorporate important themes and discussions among her work, and aims to share her passion for analyzing and improving society with her readers.

Margarita resides in British Columbia, Canada, with her husband, Chris. Together, they share a miniature dachshund, Simba, and three birds - Iago, Zazu, and Jewel.
